Our verdict

The Peloton App scores 6.7/10. Peloton's app page offers a 30-day free trial and two tiers. App One, at $12.99 a month or $129 a year, covers strength, yoga, meditation, outdoor running and gym workouts plus 3 equipment cardio classes a month. App+, at $28.99 a month or $289 a year, unlocks unlimited cardio classes for any bike, treadmill or rower. The content suits people who already own cardio equipment. It loses points on cost and transparency: App+ is the priciest plan in this ranking, and one disclaimer on Peloton's own page still quotes App+ at $24 a month while the current terms say $28.99. Some promotions also require a non-refundable three-month upfront payment. As with every app here, there is no trial of the product itself. Check the final price at checkout, and talk to a clinician before vigorous cardio if you have heart or joint problems.
