Individual Angiotensin Receptor Blockers and Risk of Dementia: A Target Trial Emulation Study

This is an official announcement record

INTRODUCTION: Observational studies suggest that angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) are associated with lower dementia risk than angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors (ACEIs). Whether dementia risk differs across individual ARBs remains uncertain and was investigated in this study. METHODS: This retrospective cohort study emulated target trials using electronic health record and claims data from 44 US health care organizations in the TriNetX Linked Research Network. ACEI/ARB-naive adults aged 55 to 80 years initiating an ARB or lisinopril were eligible. Separate 1:1 propensity-score match
