Objective: Autoantibodies are central for pathology of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and diabetes mellitus (DM) carrying high predictive and diagnostic value. Here, we explore the frequency and functional potential of DM-related antibodies (DMab) in RA. Methods: DMab targeting glutamic acid decarboxylase (GAD65ab), tyrosine phosphatase-like islet antigen 2 (IA2ab) and zinc transporter 8 (ZnT8ab) were measured in 326 DM-free RA patients (260 females, 66 males), using specific ELISAs.
